Brachioplasty, also called an Arm Lift, is a body contouring procedure that has helped many people improve their upper arm appearance. The upper arms are one of those areas that many people struggle with, especially as they get older. Excess, sagging skin in the area can be especially frustrating as no amount of healthy eating or regular exercise can improve it. The upper arms may also have excess, stubborn fat that is resistant to diet and exercise–in patients who have both excess skin and fat, liposuction may be performed in combination with brachioplasty.

The brachioplasty is performed in about one to two hours under general anesthesia. The incision is made along the bottom of the upper arm between the elbow and the armpit–it is important to understand that this incision will leave a permanent scar.
